Snow Closures

The unusual cold and snowy weather forced Heolddu to close for much of the first week in February as the site and access to it became treacherous. The Headteacher would like to thank all the parents who had to make other arrangements to look after their pupils during this period. It was really encouraging to hear how the pupils preparing for June examinations had used the extra time to revise.

 

The site manager and caretaker worked tirelessly to clear the site but their efforts were thwarted by continual bad weather that at times was unexpected.  As the outdoor areas became very slippery and dangerous and the roads to and from the school became impassable it became necessary to close the school.  The teachers and pupils will be working hard to catch up any missed work.
